June 2026 Fishing Report – ATA Lodge
Spring Has Sprung and the 2026 Season has just begun at ATA Lodge!
Opening week reminded us why June has become one of our favorite times of the entire season. The river was full of aggressive trout, the scenery was spectacular, and there wasn’t a shortage of smiling anglers returning to the dock each evening with stories of unforgettable fish.
August 2025 at ATA Lodge was full of great guests, and great fishing! In this fishing report we will be "telling the story" of what happened here at ATA Lodge mostly pictorially with a few words scattered through out this blog post. For many "in the know", June is the best time to come to Southwest Alaska and target, big, hard fighting Leopard Rainbow Trout on the upper section of the Alagnak Wild and Scenic River. It may be a bold statement, but we stand behind it at ATA Lodge, that our home waters, offer some of the most exciting fishing opportunities to catch the most and largest average size rainbow trout, at this time of the season in Alaska! Don't get me wrong, you can come up to other rivers in Alaska at other times of the season and catch bigger trout (even on our river). Bent Rods and Tight Lines!
I'd have to say that this may well have been our best season ever in many different ways! But I mention this related to the fishing in particular! We didn't have a bad or slow week all season long!
