As the sun sets on the 2023 season at ATA Lodge, we are proud to share our end of season fishing report from the amazing Alagnak Wild and Scenic River of Bristol Bay, Southwest Alaska!  We had what in many ways may have been our best season overall ever!!  The season went very smoothly over all, and in general the fishing was superb.  Everything seemed a bit late this season, the spawning of the trout in the early season, and some of the salmon runs were late and/or spread out more than normal.  But there was always great things happening and our staff and guests were fantastic! July Has Been Epic at ATA Lodge!  Of course the Sockeye Salmon start to stream in to the Alagnak Wild River in Early July.  And they did not disappoint again this season.  The fishing for sockeye was "off the chain" again this year!  Lots of happy guest throughout the whole month were able to catch as many sockeye as they wanted.  Most were released, but many guests retained their daily limits to take fresh salmon back home to eat and share with family and friends!    The run sustained through the whole month and limits were still being caught even the last week, even if it took a little more effort.  The run is strong for about 3 weeks, with...

ATA Lodge, situated on the Wild and Scenic Alagnak River of Bristol Bay, in Southwest Alaska is anticipating another fantastic season in 2023 after an Epic Season in 2022!! What can we say about the 2022 season that has just finished?  My concern in not about what to say, but rather, how do I fit it all in to one fishing report!!!  2022 was our busiest season ever at ATA Lodge and what a fantastic crew and group of guests we had this year!  Our guests, also had an amazing time experiencing all the fabulous fishing in one of Alaska's most pristine and beautiful locations, remotely located far away from the crowds, and filled with adventure. 2022 saw the season...

After a year of uncertainty due to Covid, we are sure glad to be "back at it" up here at ATA Lodge, on the Wild Alagnak River! June 8th is always the season opener up here, and the trout have not seen a fly in the 8 months since we left last September!  So we are always excited to get back on the water and wet a fly.    In fact, June may well be my personal favorite time to be on the river.  The salmon haven't arrived yet.  There aren't many guests that come up for just the trout fishing.  We've been missing the beauty of the river and area and are so happy to look over the meadow...
